The National Works Agency (NWA) has reported progress in paving more of the Morant Bay to Prospect Road in St. Thomas since the recent protest. Additionally, NWA Communication Manager Stephen Shaw, speaking Monday on Radio Jamaica’s Beyond the Headlines , promised that motorists will see even more improvements in coming days as the work continues. Motorists have complained bitterly about significant delays being experienced on the road leading from Kingston to St Thomas due to the Southern Coastal Highway Construction Project. This escalated into a massive protest two weeks ago which almost shut down access to St Thomas and severely disrupted public transportation. Mr. Shaw acknowledged that the road project has encountered problems, which have exacerbated the frustration of motorists. This, he said, was due in part to resource constraints.
